Patrick Beatty and Tom Olson, along with me, bring you live cradle to completion coverage of today's historic Space Ship One X-Prize victory flight at Mojave, CA. Our complete coverage is slightly under four hours, starting from when people first entered the Mojave Spaceport to when visitors, the press, and the VIP's were leaving. Adriano Autino, writer, space advocate, and Italian entrepreneur was the guest for this edition of The Space Show. Mr. Autino updated us on space advocacy in Italy, including the impact of Space Ship One and the X-Prize across Italy. Mr. Autino shared with his ideas regarding space entrepreneurism, the large aerospace and aviation industry, and the small businesses that he believes are generally responsible for most of the progress made in industry. He used his own software company and experience as a model for his theory.

Jim Benson, Founder and CEO of SpaceDev, returned to the Space Show for this program. Mr. Benson discussed the Space Dev contribution to the rocket motor used in the X-Prize flights by Space Ship One and the importance of this flight. We discussed many other related topics including the newly obtained financing by SpaceDev, how the company obtained the financing, and the attitude of Wall Street investors toward SpaceDev and commercial space companies. Richard Westfall was the scheduled guest for this Space Show program discussing the developing field of telepossession. Unfortunately, Mr. Westfall fell ill during the first part of the program and was unable to continue after the first break. Please see the newsletter for when he has been rescheduled. Brian Feeney, team leader for the da Vinci Project was the special guest on this edition of The Space Show. Please listen to the last ten minutes of this program as Brian can use some help for a very specific product for his entry in the X-Prize. During the program, Brian explained the origins of the da Vinci Project, its unique technical and engineering attributes and characteristics, as well as its flight plan for winning the X-Prize.

Matt Bille and Erika Lishock were the guests on this edition of The Space Show to discussion the early space history of both the United States and the USSR. Their new book, "The First Space Race," documents the contest between the two super powers to launch the world's first satellite. During the program we learned about the hidden facts and side of Sputnik, Vanguard, the U.S. Army and Navy programs and competition, and the little known Notsnik satellite program.

Taylor Dinerman, space investigative writer and military space expert was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Mr. Dinerman provided Space Show listeners with new insights into the military space program, the role of the U.S. Air Force in space, and also the role of the military from other nations in space activities. He also discussed the reality of dual use technology and infrastructure items with the civilian/private-sector and the military. Mr.

Robert Zimmerman returned to The Space Show for this program to give us several important updates as well as new information. Mr. Zimmerman updated us on space as a possible campaign issues for this year's presidential election and like he has said before, there is still no indication it will be an issue. We also talked about the X-Prize and both the American and Canadian contestants, the Hubble Space Telescope rescue mission and Nasa, and the level of progress being made toward implementing the recommendations of the Aldridge Committee. Professor Joanne Irene Gabrynowicz returned to The Space Show to give us a comprehensive update on important space law issues, including commercial space, property rights and the federal case regarding the asteroid Eros, remote sensing, privacy, the Outer Space Treaty, and general issues concerning space treaty law and much more. Toward the end of the show, Professor Gabrynowicz brought to our attention the importance of UNIDROIT, an effort to develop private laws as exampled by the agreements regarding satellite financing.
