Broadcast 256 (Special Edition)

Jim Muncy was the guest for this edition of The Space Show. With Mr. Muncy, we were treated to an inside look at advocating space policy with congress, the general public, and also with space organizations. We discussed the importance of the Bush space policy initiative in this political season and why it should be seen as non-partisan. Mr. Muncy also talked to us about how best to get one's ideas and vision in front of their representative or senator and how to get involved doing something for space development/exploration. Broadcast 255 (Special Edition)

Dr. Barbara Thompson, a NASA astrophysicist and space weather scientist, was the guest for this edition of The Space Show. Dr. Thompson explained space weather, its purpose, how it can expand out to Mars and beyond, and be used by businessmen and women as well as the government in planning and launching space missions. We talked about the risk factors versus the costs in delaying a launch based on space weather (usually infers increased solar radiation coming to or near the Earth) or in going forward with the planned event. Jeff Krukin was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Krukin began the interview by explaining his Human Space Connection program. This program consists of three major components addressing the environment, the extension of the global economy all of us are now experiencing, and the fact that space contains abundant resources. Mr. Krukin answers questions and provides excellent supporting information for these three components and his Human-Space Connection program.

Broadcast 253 (Special Edition)

Gene Meyers, Founder and CEO of The Space Island Group, Inc., returned to The Space Show for this program. Gene outlined in some detail new developments for The Space Island Group, mostly coming about in the wake of the Columbia accident. From what Mr. Meyers tells Space Show listeners on this program, major openings for The Space Island business plan for getting the private sector to space have now occurred. Mr. Meyers tells us about these openings post Columbia, the letters he has now received from large aerospace companies, and much more.

Broadcast 252 (Special Edition)

Dr. John Brandenburg returned to The Space Show for this program to update listeners on finding on Mars from the two JPL rovers and the European Mars Express. We discussed the indicators for life such as methane, formaldehyde and ammonia, all of which are being found in the Martian atmosphere. Dr. Brandenburg pointed out the extreme caution which NASA, JPL, and governments will use before announcing life on Mars now or in its recent past.

Broadcast 251 (Special Edition)

Jim McDade returned to The Space Show to discuss space and politics. He discussed the history of space in our political campaigns, the latest from both presidential candidates, the likelihood of space being a political issue for either candidate, and the role of Congress in the space program. We talked extensively about the private sector, Space Ship One, the X-Prize, NASA, and space access. This also led him into a discussion about the three fatal space accidents and conspiracy theories surrounding them, especially the Apollo fire.

Broadcast 248 (Special Edition)

Guillermo Sohnlein was the guest for this edition of The Space Show. Mr. Sohnlein discussed space entrepreneurism, defining the applicable categories that fit space entrepreneurism. However, he made the important point that in reality, entrepreneurism in space is no different than entrepreneurism anyplace else on Earth. The only difference is that the business venture or opportunity happens to take place in space rather than on Earth. He underscored the need to move to this understanding. Mr.

Ed Wright returned to The Space Show for this program to discuss the state of the suborbital industry and much more. We had an extensive discussion of the private-sector and space access, focusing on Space Ship One, the X-Prize, and other possible X-Prize winners such as the Canadian teams. Mr. Wright explained his program, the details of which will soon be announced, regarding his space tourism suborbital vehicle, the Archangel. Ed discussed his proposed program which will involve space training and much more.
