Robert Zimmerman, best selling author and space historian, returned to The Space Show for this program. Mr. Zimmerman discussed the important roll that Russia is now playing in our space program and how Russia is actually making it possible to continue with the manned space program and the ISS. We talked about what this means for NASA, the United States, and the top level of NASA administrators.

Gail Leatherwood, long time space advocate, enthusiast, and charter listener of The Space Show, was the guest for this program. Mr. Leatherwood began the discussion talking about his three part approach to developing space resources which includes spaceports, habitats, and the next generation of space vehicles. This discussion opened the door for talking about space tourism, various occupations that space commerce will open up for our economy, including many occupations and opportunities that we cannot yet identify.

Hu Davis was the guest for this Space Show program. Having worked with NASA and the Apollo program, and now with Starcraft Boosters, Mr. Davis talked to Space Show listeners about the importance of returning to the Moon to stay and why we should be developing lunar resources. Mr. Davis also addressed issues relating to the space vision proposed by President Bush, why we should be more focused on going back to the Moon to stay and develop it rather than on using the Moon as a stopping off or training point for going on to Mars and beyond. Dr. Jurist, having invested in several space business ventures in recent years, shared with Space Show listeners his insights, perspectives and lessons learned from having been closely associated with many companies striving to build a successful space operating/business company. His views and comments might be surprising to many Space Show listeners.

Rand Simberg and Bill Simon returned to The Space Show to celebrate July 20, 1969, the day mankind first took steps on another world, the Moon. Frank Sietzen and Keith Cowing, authors of the newly released book, “New Moon Rising: The Making of America's New Space Vision and the Remaking of NASA,” were the guests for this Space Show program. Frank and Keith talked extensively about their new book which delves into the behind the scenes making of the new space policy initiative proposed by President Bush in January of this year.

Dr. George C. Nield, the Deputy Associate Administrator for Commercial Space Transportation at the FAA, was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Dr. Nield took us through the process of obtaining a license to launch a private suborbital vehicle to space. We discussed all aspects of the process, the role of the FAA, the AST, its relationship with NASA, Congress, and most important, with the businessmen and women building the rockets and the vehicles. Dr. Paul Spudis, Senior Staff Scientist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland and Visiting Scientist at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston, Texas, was the guest on this Space Show program.
