Broadcast 206 (Special Edition)

Constance Adams, NASA consultant and space architect, was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Ms. Adams began by discussing architecture and its relevance to space habitats and construction. We discussed the influence of space architecture on possible lunar and Mars settlements, and if the state of advancement and capabilities of this industry matched the timing of plausible lunar business ventures or the Bush policy initiative calling for a return to the Moon to stay. Ms.

Dr. Alan Binder, the Director and Founder of the Lunar Research Institute in Tucson, AZ and a Lunar and Planetary Scientist, was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Dr. Binder began his discussion by explaining his Lunar Prospector Mission, how it worked, what it discovered, what it was like working with NASA to make it happen. He also explains why this project and its discoveries are important and applicable today in light of President Bush's space policy initiative to return to the Moon to stay. We also talked about finding and confirming water as ice on the Moon. Dr.

Dr. Lee S. Valentine, Executive Director of the Space Studies Institute, was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Dr. Valentine began his discussion by stating that so far space has been an endless money hole, but in order for us to become space-faring, benefits and profits from space activities need to be present. Thus, affordable space access is needed. We talked about space tourism as potentially the best space business for profits and benefits for the near-term.

Dr. Haym Benaroya, professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University and noted lecturer at national and international space conferences as well as a noted space advocate was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. During the program, Dr. Benaroya discussed the importance of returning to the Moon to stay and going on to Mars. He also talked about the value and need for maintaining the International Space Station and the Hubble Space Telescope.

Henry Vanderbilt returned to The Space Show for this program to discuss the upcoming Space Access Society Conference in Phoenix, Arizona and much more. In addition to talking about the conference, who will be attending, speaking, and the major topics, we discussed the need for affordable access, the suborbital industry, X-Prize, and why any of this should matter. In response to questions from listeners, Mr. Vanderbilt talked about companies outside the United States involved in the suborbital program as well as X-Prize.

Dr. John Brandenburg, research scientist, teacher, and science fiction author returned to The Space Show for this Sunday program. We started our discussion with Dr. Brandenburg about Mars and the recent NASA press conference regarding water on Mars. We discussed what this means, the ramifications for life on Mars in its past and possibly now, and how Mars science and research might be affected by the discovery of Martian biology. Dr.

Manny Pimenta, the guest on The Space Show for this 200th program, is a member of the Board of Directors and an Advocate for The Space Frontier Foundation. He is in charge of organizing the upcoming, very important Return to the Moon Conference to be held in July in Las Vegas, NV. We discussed the need for this conference as well as for returning to the Moon. Mr.

Former astronaut, author, and retired USAF Colonel William Pogue was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Col. Pogue described is his experiences in space, on spacewalks, and all associated processes in quite some detail. We also discussed his book, Space Trivia, how he did the research for the 800 plus questions in the book and he he found the answers to what are certainly some challenging and thought provoking questions. Col.

Broadcast 198 (Special Edition) Greg Klerkx

Greg Klerkx, the author of the very informative and popular book "Lost in Space: The Fall of NASA and the Dream of a a New Space Age" spoke to Space Show listeners on this show about his research and findings regarding NASA and more, all of which are reported in his book. Greg begins his story with us by talking about his experiences while at SETI, the NASA perception of SETI and what he actually discovered about NASA while he was at SETI. Greg examines NASA very carefully and suggests what might be needed if NASA is going to implement the new Bush space policy, the VSE.

Broadcast 197 (Special Edition)

Eli Goldberg, Kristoph Klover, Dr. Jordin Kare and Maryanne Dyson joined The Space Show for this program to discuss "To Touch The Stars," a musical celebration of exploration. Eli and Kristoph discussed space theme folk and other types of music and to us how this incredible album came into being. Kristoph is also the lead singer on several of the cuts for this album and a few of those cuts were played on the program. Dr.
