Alan Boyle, science editor and author of the Cosmic Log blog, returned as a guest for this Space Show program. Our discussion with Alan covered many topics including space journalism ethics and controls, COTS, the VSE and returning to the Moon, and competition for the Moon with other ideas for visiting an asteroid or Mars. We also discussed fusion energy, the X Prize Cup, air shows, Bigelow Aerospace, inflatable structures and NASA’s plans for them, the ISS and onboard ISS science experiments, Blue Origin and Jeff Bezos, and much more.
Alan Boyle returned to The Space Show today to discuss many important news and space developments. We started the discussion with perspectives on what was then the upcoming SpaceX Falcon 1 launch which unfortunately turned unsuccessful later in the day. Alan also talked about space reporting journalism, MSNBC science and space reporting, and his recent visit to the Blue Origins headquarters near Kent, Washington. Alan spoke about the NASA COTS program, the COTS participants, why there needs to be completion of the ISS with additional shuttle flights, and more.
Alan Boyle was the guest for this Space Show program. We talked about his work as MSNB.com's science editor, covering hydrocarbon formation theory to dinosaurs, and then on to space. Mr. Boyle was in Florida at the Cape for the dress rehearsal for the coming Discovery shuttle flight and reported to us on what was going on today as well as sharing his views with us on return to flight.
