Guest: Rick Tumlinson returned as the guest for this Space Show program. As Rick was one of the three founders of the Space Frontier Foundation (SFF) (please see their website at www.spacefrontierfoundation.org/), we began our discussion with Rick letting us know about new and significant changes and accomplishments with SFF. Listen to this segment, it's most interesting as we explore the ISS, Mir, Dennis Tito, DC-X, and lobbying both candidates running for the office of President of the United States.

As we learned, the contest is open to those in grades 6-9 and 10-12 or their foreign equivalent. Each group is judged separately other than for the grand prize. Guests: Col. M. V. (Coyote Smith; Dr. David Livingston: ISDC 2008 Interview # 4 starts off with a quality discussion with Col. M. V. (Coyote) Smith, USAF, regarding the business case potential and the need for developing space solar power. This is a hard-hitting discussion in the hotel coffee shop about what is needed for space solar power to be developed. During this interview, not only do we discuss business case facts, but energy policy, the capability of the private sector to develop a demo project, other nations and their work toward SSP as well as their capability to do the project.

Guest: Rand Simberg, who blogs at Transterrestrial Musings (www.transterrestrial.com/), was the guest on the show. Rand recently wrote an article about the possible space policies from each of the three leading American presidential candidates and we wanted him to talk about his views on this subject right here on The Space Show. This was a comprehensive discussion on space policy, not just the possible policy of each of our presidential candidates, and you will find this information most valuable.

Guest: Dennis Wingo was the guest for this Space Show program. We started out discussing energy which, as Dennis stated, is a very complex problem. This led to our discussion of the Moon as a microcosm of the Earth's macrocosm environment. Dennis also described the process for lunar construction for solar power hardware and then getting it to Geo from the Moon. As you will hear, listeners asked him if it would be humans on the Moon doing the hardware construction or robotics. You will want to hear what Dennis has to say about this.

Guest: Dr. Dennis Bushnell, Chief Scientist at NASA Langley Research Center, was the guest for today's program. We began our discussion talking about the advancements in revolutionary technology needed for a manned mission to Mars. Dr. Bushnell has a published paper on this subject, titled "Advanced-to-Revolutionary Technology Options for Humans-Mars," which I will send as a Word document if you email me and request it. Guest: George Whitesides returned for this special Space Show program to discuss the upcoming ISDC conference, May 29-June 1 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. However, the Space Investment Summit will be held at the same hotel on May 28 and anyone attending ISDC should fill out the special registration for the Summit and attend it as well. Guest: Dr. Donald Rapp was the guest for this Friday Space Show program. Dr. Rapp authored two new books, both of which were discussed on this program. During the first three-quarters of the show, we discussed his book, "Human Missions To Mars," and what it will take for humans to go to Mars. For the remaining part of the program, we discussed his book, "Assessing Climate Change," and here we facilitated an important discussion about the science behind climate change and global warming.
