Dr. Sherry Bell was our guest today to discuss the new Aerospace Technolgy Working Group (ATWG) book, "Living In Space: Cultural And Social Dynamics, Opportunities, And Challenges In Permanent Space Habitats." Dr. Bell told us about several of the chapters including a forward by Dr. Buzz Aldrin and others which separates commercial space from NASA and calls for the establishment of a cabinet level Department of Space.

Guest: Sy Liebergot. Topics: NASA Flight Controller, space station, Return to the Moon, exploration, education. Sy Liebergot returned to The Space Show to talk about the newly released second edition of his book, "Apollo EECOM: Journey of a lifetime," published by Apogee. Sy was the lead EECOM Flight Controller throughout the Apollo manned missions and the book tells his story with lots of experiences and personal insights.

Dr. Jeff Bell began the discussion today by referring back to an end of the year Space Show program which addressed Apollo 8 and a recent article written by Miles O'Brien on the same subject which ignored the rush for Apollo 8 because the Soviets were planning their own lunar flyby mission with the L1 which was more commonly referred to as the Zond spacecraft. Guest: Tom Olson was our guest for this special Space Show program which took a look at space in 2008 to get an idea of what space in 2009 will look like. We started the discussion with an update from Tom on his effort to win clemency for Walt Anderson as President Bush decides these issues before leaving office. Tom explained the process and said it was now just a wait and see what happens. Eva-Jane did a stellar job in drawing me out in detailed responses to very good questions on many subjects ranging from business planning and development issues, to some personal issues and financial issues regarding The Space Show, and my goals and objectives with The Space Show.

Guest: Dr. Sam Dinkin was the guest for this Space Show program. We started our Q&A with Sam with an update on his start-up, Space Shot. Here, Sam took us through the game, its current status, and then, in response to a listener question, he did a "lessons learned" from starting this business. This is a must hear discussion and is applicable to more than just Space Shot. We also talked about space in the future. Sam mentioned that, in his opinion, we would likely develop the oceans first, including aquaculture and then develop habitable aerostats.
