Richard Godwin is a space aficionado, space advocate and joint owner of Apogee Books which among many topics, documents our history in space. He is very interested in the education of kids regarding space and he wants to start an annual space fair. His focus is on working to get the public to see how valuable space research is for the overall economy and he discusses his ideas on our program. He also shares his insights from his work on asteroid and planetary defense issues. In addition, Mr.

Dr. Steven Dick, an astronomer and historian of science at the U.S. Naval Observatory since 1979 and a well known expert in the field of astrobiology and its cultural implications, discusses the possibilities of extraterrestrial life, its implications for our life and culture, the likelihood of it existing, and whether there are any commercial possibilities in this area. We will also discuss with Dr. Dick the history of life on other worlds and the entire issue of searching for life off Earth.

Dr. Douglas A. Vakoch of SETI discusses whether our search for life in the universe is really about discovering life off Earth or learning more about ourselves. We also explore just how we might turn our search for ET life into a successful commercial venture, and if the search for life off Earth helps, hinders, or is a non-issue for expanding space commerce. We will also discuss the latest on his research and the SETI efforts to find ET life.

Mr. Sam Coniglio shares with us some of the new ways he is working to keep the public excited about space travel. We also ask him about reusable launch vehicles (RLVs) and the advent of affordable space travel given his previous experience with the DCX. Other issues addressed with Mr.

George Osorio was the guest for this program which focuses on one of Mr. Osorio's special interest projects, the search for life in the solar system. In addition to discussing the process of looking for life off Earth, Mr. Osorio brings his experience and expertise to bear regarding the design characteristic of the ISS and its commercial facilities and applications, plus lots more.

Robert Becerra, Attorney. Mr. Becerra discusses The FAA, its AST office and the issuing of launch licenses. He tells us about the typical requirements to obtain a license from the FAA for launches of expendable and reusable vehicles, and for reentry vehicles. Our guest has substantial experience with the process itself and many of the requirements, the launch regulations, and the required FAA applications
