The Space Foundation Conference

Broadcast 930 (Special Edition)

Guest: George Whitesides returned for this special Space Show program to discuss the upcoming ISDC conference, May 29-June 1 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. However, the Space Investment Summit will be held at the same hotel on May 28 and anyone attending ISDC should fill out the special registration for the Summit and attend it as well. The ISDC website for further information is www.isdc.2008.org. During the ISDC segment of the program, George talked about the keynote speakers and several of the planned panel discussions.

Broadcast 920 (Special Edition)

Guest: David Dunlop, the Director of Project Development for The Moon Society (www.moonsociety.org), was the guest for this special two hour program. We started our discussion talking with David about why we should be returning to the Moon rather than going to Mars or a NEO. Listen to what he says and see if you agree. Also, would you go to the Moon to have a McDonalds' hamburger for lunch? He invites one of our listeners to do this and you will want to hear this somewhat playful discussion as well.

Broadcast 725 (Special Edition)

Tom Olson was the guest for this special Space Show program intended to update us on the ISDC conference that just ended in Dallas, TX. Please note that for this interview, there were audio issues with the telephone line with Tom that could not be cleared for this show. I asked Tom to tell us his favorite talk at ISDC was and while he said there were not major show stoppers as there were last year with the luncheon talk by Burt Rutan, he did say he was very impressed with Alex Tai and also talks in the business track.

Broadcast 492 (Special Edition)

Chip Proser returned to The Space Show for this program. Fresh from ISDC and from updating his important documentary, "Gaia Selene: Saving The Earth by Colonizing the Moon," we discussed how space can be used as a major path for solutions to our energy problems and the climate change being experienced around Earth. Chip discusses these topics in detail and connects the dots for people so they can see yet another vitally important reason to become space-faring, reach for the Moon and take humanity off Earth.

Broadcast 491 (Special Edition)

Dr. David Livingston, Host of The Space Show, has recorded this 47 minute message while at ISDC 2006 to let Space Show listeners know that the program is now part of a tax deductible California public benefit corporation, the One Giant Leap Foundation (OGLF). Now that OGLF has been approved as a 501C3 by the IRS, Livingston explains some of the new types of programming being planned for The Space Show. Also, starting May 1, 2006, contributions to The Space Show will be tax deductible.

Broadcast 485 (Special Edition)

George Whitesides returned to The Space Show to discuss the upcoming National Space Society ISDC Conference in Los Angeles. This program was devoted almost entirely to ISDC and I urge all listeners to hear about it and register and attend this important and wide ranging conference. Visit www.nss.org and click on the ISDC link or visit www.isdc2006.org for the direct link to the conference information and registration.

Broadcast 339 (Special Edition)

Dr. Kent Miller was the guest for this Space Show program. Dr. Miller began the interview speaking about the coming NSS Annual ISDC Conference to be held later this week in Washington, DC from May 19-22, 2005. Dr. Miller discussed the overall conference plan, he spoke about many of the speakers and the subjects that will be covered and he also provided listeners with registration information for those who are still interested in attending.
