Dr. Henry Hertzfeld returned to The Space Show to discuss the current state of our national and global economy and its probable impact on space development and programs. We examined the economic impact on companies that need to raise money, those which do not have clearly defined markets, and on those companies that are self-funded.

Broadcast 975 (Special Edition)

Guests: Dr. Bryan Laubscher and Dr. Martin Lades were guests for today's Space Show to discuss the space elevator and the upcoming space elevator conference (www.spaceelevatorconference.org). We started our discussion with the basics of the space elevator concept and why at this point in time convergence is necessary for the space elevator's development. Our two guests covered these issues in some detail and then more when listeners starting asking about why we need a space elevator.

Broadcast 628 (Special Edition)

Dr. Jim Wertz, CEO of Microcosm, Inc., returned to complete his discussion started last Friday, Nov. 17, 2006. We started the interview with a thorough discussion of why the U.S. government is not funding Scorpious and at times not even following the recommendations of the reports the government commenced. This comprehensive discussion not only included Scorpius, it addressed responsive space, the Darpa/Falcon project, and both the politics and engineering necessary to make these programs successful.

Broadcast 615 (Special Edition)

Gil Moore and Lowell Randall were the guests for this very special Space Show program. As Lowell actually knew and worked with Dr. Robert Goddard, we started the interview by asking Lowell about Dr. Goddard, his work, his secrecy, his vision, and the way he was treated by the press and the government. Lowell Randall gave us some important insights into Dr. Goddard and those early days of starting a rocket industry in the U.S. Gil joined in the discussion as he too was part of building the rocket industry in the early period of its history in our country.
