Rod Pyle, author of "Destination Moon: The Apollo Missions in the Astronauts' Own Words," was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Pyle discussed the views of the Apollo program and our current space program with many of the Apollo era astronauts and Moon walkers. We discussed their comments, thoughts, recommendations, etc. on air. Mr. Pyle also talked about others involved in the Apollo program, not just astronauts. For example, Chris Kraft and Gene Krantz. Rod spoke about the futuristic comments by Alan Bean, most of which seem to be very true today.

Bob Ward, author of "Dr. Space: The Life of Wernher von Braun," was the guest for this Sunday Space Show program. This two hour program provides the listener with a comprehensive discussion about Von Braun, from his childhood interests, his Nazi work for the Germans in World War II, his coming to the United States with Operation Paperclip, and his work with the U.S. government for rockets, our space program, NASA, our going to the Moon, developing space camp and more. Mr.

Sir Charles Shults returned to The Space Show to discuss Mars findings in some depth. However, before getting underway with the Mars information, given the fusion background of Sir Charles, the program kicked off with an update of where we are with fusion reaction, reactors, research, and what is ahead for the near-term regarding fusion. You will want to hear this fusion update if you are at all interested in the subject. After the fusion update, we turned our attention to Mars.

Chuck Walker, author of "Atlas: The Ultimate Weapon," was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Walker began the interview by letting us know why the Atlas ICBM was the ultimate weapon and why it was so important for both the military and the early days of our space program, including Project Mercury. We talked about the various versions of the Atlas, its stainless steel components and construction, it safety record, Mercury astronauts and their flights, the use of a Russian engine in a 90's version of the Atlas, and much more.

Ed Buckbee, author of the new book, "The Real Space Cowboys," was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Buckbee described his book which will be available from Apogee Publishing in May and which has contributions in it by former astronaut Wally Schirra. We talked with Ed about many subjects stemming from the Mercury Astronaut period. One of the more fascinating parts of the discussion was the surprising information on the competition between the astronauts and the chimps in the early space program. I am quite sure this discussion will interest and delight you.

Guenter Wendt, the guest on this Space Show program, is the author of "The Unbroken Chain" and was the pad leader during Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs. Mr. Wendt talked about his experiences with our space program, what he perceives to be the problems with today's space program and how best to move forward with a revised space program for the United States and the world. Mr. Wendt also talked about the importance of education and making sure that those still in school know that they can have solid opportunities for working and developing space programs and being in space. Mr.

Gene Kranz, former NASA Mission Control Flight Director during the Apollo program was the guest for this program. During this interview, we discussed his experiences with NASA during Project Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo, NASA, Columbia, the future of the space program, space commerce and the private sector in space, and space development. Mr. Kranz outlines his four part plan to make space a priority again and to lead us forward to becoming a space-faring society in a space-faring world.
