Guest: Scott Cassell was the guest for this Space Show program exploring the relationship and synergy of our oceans with space. Our discussion with Scott started off by focusing on the Humboldt Squid, which is as much a foreign life form to humans as anything that may be encountered on or off this planet. Dr. Eligar Sadeh returned to The Space Show to update us on the recent National Space Forum which was held in Washington, DC. in early February 2008. Dr. Sadeh summarized most of the panels and presentations at the Forum, so we addressed U.S. space policy for the upcoming administration, U.S. space leadership and its effectiveness, space commerce, and civil space. It was brought to his attention that many attending the Forum were disappointed that NewSpace / alt.space were not a significant focus of any of the Forums. Guest: Jim Muncy. Jim Muncy returned to The Space Show for this special program. We covered many topics ranging from Jim's grad school days at the then-newly formed University of North Dakota, Space Studies Department to the politics of space. Former UND students were listening and asked Jim questions about what Space Studies was like in the late ' 80s and early '90s. For example, was NASA the only game in town with public space? Or were there any private sector space options back then other than the government contractors? What about the excitement and passion of the students?

Dr. Phil Barnett was the guest for this Space Show program. Calling upon the more than forty years of experience in the aerospace industry for Dr. Barnett, we explored with him Space Shuttle issues, management and business issues needed for all types of space programs, public and private, we discussed risk analysis, politics on the national scene as well as within large organizations and small companies, leadership, power and strategies and much more. Dr. Barnett provided us with perspectives coming from both the engineering and the business community as well as academics.
