Jim Spellman

Jim Spellman, the founder and director of the Western Spaceport Chapter of the National Space Society and a member of the California Spaceport Authority, was the guest on The Space Show for this program. and the Director of Public Affairs for the 60th Medical Group at David Grant USAF Medical Center, Travis AFB, California. Mr. Spellman has worked with various nonprofit aerospace organizations such as the National Space Society, Space Frontier Foundation, Spacecause, Young Astronauts, Civil Air Patrol and the U.S. Space Camp. He is a five-time recipient of the Space Pioneer Award for effective publicity campaigns, and was named "Space Advocate of the Year" by the National Space Society in 1997. We will be discussing effective space advocacy, outreach, how best to work for constructive and supportive space policy, the state of the commercial space industry today and the planned Chinese launch of their astronauts which may take place just before this program airs live.
