Guest: Dr. Robert (Bob) Richards was our guest for this Space Show program. We started our discussion with an update on the Optech meteorological lidar unit flown aboard the NASA Phoenix Mars Lander. As Bob reported to us, all worked to their complete satisfaction with the unit. The first interview features Bob Zimmerman, followed by Dr. Sean Casey with important updates for the NASA SOFIA Project, then David Faulkner who is the Program Manager and CTO for Rocketplane Global. Bob Zimmerman shares his view of the Investment Summit and several important space current events that we discussed. Reda Anderson and Dr. Benaroya were with me for these interviews and also asked questions for these featured guests.
Robert Zimmerman returned to The Space Show to give us new insights and updates regarding all things happening with space. We started by discussing Bigelow Aerospace and then we discussed the successful launch of the Shuttle Discovery. This took us deeper into NASA and related discussions such as COTS, the Vision, science funding or the lack of it, and more. We also discussed the newly released Space Frontier Foundation White Paper regarding the Vision for Space Exploration.
Professor Howard McCurdy was the guest for this Space Show program. We began the discussion with a critical view of the Vision for Space Exploration from the public policy perspective. This discussion paved the way for an examination of the relationship with the Vision, the Shuttle, ISS, science program funding within NASA, NASA management, and much more. We talked about the survivability of the Vision program based on the coming mid-term elections and the 2008 presidential elections.
