The Space Foundation Conference

Scot Stride is a senior engineer working for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. He has over 34 years experience building hardware for spacecraft telecommunications and radar systems. His most recent projects were the Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) payload for the Psyche mission and the UHF radios for the Mars Ingenuity Helicopter. His current assignment is the EnVision (Venus mission) radar transmitter. Scot has had an interest in the subject of ETI since watching the Cosmos series hosted by Carl Sagan in the early 80s. This, and his beginning work at JPL in 1982, inspired him to investigate the possibility that ETI is exploring the galaxy with robotic probes. Scot's main focus is studying complimentary efforts to the traditional SETI method of searching for artificial microwave or optical signals originating far outside the solar system. The alternatives he calls SETV (Search for ET Visitation) and S3ETI (Solar System SETI). Both strategies state a premise that robotic spacecraft, or probes, from advanced extraterrestrial civilizations, as of yet undetected by traditional SETI efforts, have deployed exploratory probes which may now be in our solar system. Those strategies include the use of observational remote-sensing platforms to collect a wide range of scientifically useful data. He will discuss why these complimentary SETI efforts are feasible, important and timely in light of the disclosures made by the US military that UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) do exist.

Broadcast 3892 Scot Stride

Guest:  Scot Stride;  Topics:  Scot talked about his radio and radar space mission experience, projects, flight hardware, the use of off the shelf items to save money, plus our guest talked about his own SETI research involving SETV, S3ETI and the UAP phenomena along with the physics of ET type searches.

Broadcast 359 (Special Edition)

Scot Stride, a senior engineer at NASA JPL in Pasadena, California, was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Stride discussed SETI programs with us and highlighted his discussion with the SETI alternatives, SETV (Search for ET Visitation) and S3ETI (Solar System SETI). Mr. Stride provided listeners with a superb background and history on SETI, how it started and how it became what it is today. Mr. Stride also discussed the Allen Telescope Array and what it will mean for future SETI efforts. Mr.
