Guest: OPEN LINES: Topics: China & U.S. debt, capital for NewSpace, VSE, low cost space access, business fundamentals, Phoenix Lights, UFOs. This was a busy Open Lines program as a result of the last minute cancellation by our Nigerian guest who was to talk about the African space program. In opening this Open Lines show, several topics were put on the table including the composition of the lunar surface, China and its concern over financing the U.S. deficit by purchasing government bonds and what this may mean for the U.S. and our interests in space development.

Guests: Andrea Seastrand and Janice Dunn with Matt Everingham of the California Space Authority (CSA), followed by Ken Davidian of NASA, followed by Jim Buenrostro of the team Technology Ranch at the NASA Lunar Regolith Challenge at Cal Poly were our guests for this set of taped interviews. We start this set of interviews with a message from me, your host of the Space Show, regarding the Falcon 1 launch attempt and my comments about it. As you will hear, I relate these comments and events to the Challenge which took place at Cal Poly this weekend.

Guest : Dan Linehan, author of "SpaceShipOne: An Illustrated History," was the guest for this Space Show program. We went through the book, which is a documentary on SpaceShipOne (SS1), its development, construction, and flights. During this show interview with Dan Linehan, we address many things and learn lots of new things regarding SS1. For example, the rumor that it was unsafe to fly again and thus off it went to the Smithsonian, as you will hear in the story near the end of the discussion, is not true.

Robert Zimmerman returned to this special Space Show program to update listeners on the recently held ISDC Conference in Washington, DC and more. Robert began the update talking about the opening remarks by Burt Rutan and his NASA comments. Following Burt were NASA speakers that had to address the issues cited by Mr. Rutan. Mr. Zimmerman discussed some of what he has been told regarding the three different types of divisions within NASA at this time pertaining to the implementation of the new vision and NASA culture reforms. Mr.
