Guest: Ross Tierney. Topics. Direct 3.0, Constellation, NASA, political process. Ross Tierney returned for this two hour program to update us with Direct 3.0 in light of the Augustine report and the upcoming announcements regarding U.S. Civil Space Policy. In our first segment, Ross brought us current with Direct 3.0 and the Augustine Commission. This is a comprehensive discussion. We also talked about work force issues and job losses in the space industry as a result of potential space policy changes.

Guest: Rand Simberg, who blogs at Transterrestrial Musings (www.transterrestrial.com/), was the guest on the show. Rand recently wrote an article about the possible space policies from each of the three leading American presidential candidates and we wanted him to talk about his views on this subject right here on The Space Show. This was a comprehensive discussion on space policy, not just the possible policy of each of our presidential candidates, and you will find this information most valuable.

Broadcast 601 (Special Edition)

Shubber Ali was the guest on this special program and we thank Shubber for being with us live at the unheard of time of 2:30-4:30AM in Sydney, Australia! During the first part of this program, Shubber talked about space tragic and why he does not like the term "space industry." We then looked at recent developments in the space world since his last appearance on the show and asked for his analysis. This included CEV, COTS, Lockheed, Kistler, Atlas 5, Bigelow, space tourism and Ms. Ansari on the space station, the VSE and more.

Broadcast 461 (Special Edition)

Pete Sepp from the National Taxpayers Union joined The Space Show for this program with a special no commercial break 60 minute interview. Mr. Sepp began the interview by stating his interest in space and the general position of the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) regard government spending and space policy. You will find most interesting his lead off comments about the ISS. The discussion then focused on the proposed merger of the launch vehicles and services of both Boeing and Lockheed into the United Launch Initiative. Mr.

Broadcast 323 (Special Edition)

Dr. Alan Binder returned to the The Space Show last night to discuss his new book, Lunar Prospector: Against All Odds. He began the interview by telling us the Lunar Prospector story, the challenges he faced technically as well as from NASA, Lockheed, and individuals. This story includes interesting reflections regarding the upcoming NASA Administrator, Dr. Mike Griffin as Dr. Binder did not have very good experiences with him when he was the AA of NASA and working with him on Lunar Prospector. In response to a listener call, Dr. Binder discussed the possibility of water on the Moon.
