Links for downloading both letters can be found on our blog for this show.
Guest: Dr. John Jurist. Dr. John Jurist, long time friend and supporter of the Space Show, was the guest on this slightly over 2 hour Sunday program. In this discussion, we covered many topics including science education, human factors, the balkanization of various components of the space industry , radiation, microgravity experiments, commercial space, suborbital and orbital space tourism, spaceport talk, and more. Dr.
Guest: Jim Muncy. Jim Muncy returned to The Space Show for this special program. We covered many topics ranging from Jim's grad school days at the then-newly formed University of North Dakota, Space Studies Department to the politics of space. Former UND students were listening and asked Jim questions about what Space Studies was like in the late ' 80s and early '90s. For example, was NASA the only game in town with public space? Or were there any private sector space options back then other than the government contractors? What about the excitement and passion of the students?
Guest: Dr. Jay Buckey. Dr. Jay Buckey returned to The Space Show for a most interesting discussion about politics, space, and human factors affecting long-duration spaceflight. Since Dr. Buckey is running for the U.S. Senate from New Hampshire, I asked him about running on a space ticket, using space as a campaign tool, and using his former astronaut status to aid him in his campaign. You will want to hear his reply about these questions . We also talked about space issues in the recently concluded New Hampshire presidential primary.
