Broadcast 1000 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Patrick Collins was our very special guest for this 1,000th Space Show program! Dr. Collins joined us from Japan as he was also the very first Space Show guest on June 13, 2001. We started our discussion with a type of report card for space tourism in 2001 and now in 2008. We both went through a list of milestones, accomplishments, events, and developments in order to ascertain the level of progress made in developing space tourism over the past seven years. Dr.

Cathy Harper was the guest for this Space Show program. Our interview with Ms. Harper began with a quick discussion of the White Sands Film Festival. After suggesting a category in the film festival for YouTube type space commerce PSAs for the teen through young adult market, we moved on to discussing the Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Rex Ridenoure, CEO of Ecliptic Enterprises Corporation of Pasadena, CA, joined The Space Show for this program. As Rex pointed out, Ecliptic is a very successful alt.space company, thus significantly broadening our usual application of the term alt.space. We began our discussion talking about their RocketCam product which took the incredible Space Ship One and Shuttle real time photos. This discussion expanded how Rex leads Ecliptic in the global space economy, how they are impacted by ITAR, cost plus contracting versus FFP. We talked about business secrecy, public and private companies.

Broadcast 412 (Special Edition)

Robert Zimmerman returned to The Space Show for this program. We began the discussion with Bob giving us his first hand report from the recent Frank Borman comments about Space Ship One being a stunt and the reaction to his comments, both from the audience (they applauded) and on www.spacepolitics.com. We then discussed the Lunar Robot Lander program scheduled as part of our Return to The Moon program for around 2010-2011. This took us into a rather detailed discussion about NASA, the vision, Dr.

Broadcast 265 (Special Edition)

Adriano Autino, writer, space advocate, and Italian entrepreneur was the guest for this edition of The Space Show. Mr. Autino updated us on space advocacy in Italy, including the impact of Space Ship One and the X-Prize across Italy. Mr. Autino shared with his ideas regarding space entrepreneurism, the large aerospace and aviation industry, and the small businesses that he believes are generally responsible for most of the progress made in industry. He used his own software company and experience as a model for his theory.
