Guest: Chris Carberry, Executive Director of The Mars Society, returned for this Space Show program. As Chris was in attendance at ISDC 2008, we opened our discussion with a review of the presidential candidates' representatives who made presentations at ISDC this year. Here we talked about the questions asked by Miles O'Brien of CNN, the lack of knowledge by the representatives about important space issues such as ITAR, and the overall disappointment felt across the board by the poor showing and low level of interest evidenced during this sessions by those on the panel.

Guest : Frank Stratford, CEO of MarsDrive (www.marsdrive.com), was the guest for this Space Show program. We started out by having Frank update us as to the purpose and mission of MarsDrive, then we talked about the MarsDrive petition, especially the version placed on the Space Cynics website (please see http://spacecynic.wordpress.com/2008/04/15/peer-review-comes-to-the-spa… for more information).

Guest: David Dunlop, the Director of Project Development for The Moon Society (www.moonsociety.org), was the guest for this special two hour program. We started our discussion talking with David about why we should be returning to the Moon rather than going to Mars or a NEO. Listen to what he says and see if you agree. Also, would you go to the Moon to have a McDonalds' hamburger for lunch? He invites one of our listeners to do this and you will want to hear this somewhat playful discussion as well.

Shubber Ali returned for this special Space Show program which was extended to 2 1/2 hours. We began our discussion with Shubber by asking him for his take on the VSE. the lunar launch architecture designed to take us to the Moon, and the time period for the program. Shubber wasted no time in taking us through the complicated political world surrounding the VSE and letting us know why he does not think it will happen.

Bill Boland returned for this Space Show program. We began the interview with a detailed discussion about the new Teachers in Space Program as part of the overall programming of Space Frontier Foundation. Bill explained the program and answered listener questions it, even those that were skeptical. We then focused on space advocacy and the Space Frontier Foundation.

Joe Latrell, CEO of Beyond-Earth Enterprises, returned to The Space Show for this program. Mr. Latrell not only provided us with an update for his company, Beyond-Earth Enterprises, but he responded to questions about the private space industry, NASA, the space shuttle, the VSE, space advocacy, and much more. Mr. Latrell also talked about the Beyond-Earth presence at the coming XPRIZE Cup program in October 2005 in New Mexico, the use of various launch sites from Frederick, Oklahoma to the Southwest Regional Spaceport as soon as it is opened for business. Mr.

Elaine Walker returned to The Space Show to discuss many important subjects ranging from Devon Island, the Moon Habitat with the Mexican Space Society, space advocacy, the new space policy vision and its impact on space development and advocacy. Elaine did a superb job in thoroughly discussing the Mars Analog site at Devon Island and the importance of the research going on at this Artic Circle location and the Haughton Crater.

Jeff Krukin was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Krukin began the interview by explaining his Human Space Connection program. This program consists of three major components addressing the environment, the extension of the global economy all of us are now experiencing, and the fact that space contains abundant resources. Mr. Krukin answers questions and provides excellent supporting information for these three components and his Human-Space Connection program.

Steven Wolfe returned to The Space Show to discuss aspects of President Bush's newly proposed space policy to return to the Moon and take humans to Mars. Not only did Steven Wolfe evaluate and discuss this policy from various points of view, he also discussed space advocacy, its plusses and shortfalls, especially when considering the type of space policy program now on the discussion table. Steven and I also suggested ways for space advocacy to be more inclusive, thus to advocate to and with the general public. Mr.

Rick Tumlinson joined the Space Show for this special program to discuss space policy, the return to the Moon, the importance of this 100th anniversary of powered flight and the Wright Brothers, space advocacy, Mars, and more. He told the true and accurate stories of the end of Mir and the Lance Bass effort to go to the ISS. Rick put forth his ideas for space access, commercial space, redesigning NASA with a new mission and lean and mean operational status. Rick Tumlinson is a visionary space leader and this is an important program with valuable information and insights.
