Guest: Richard Phillips was the guest for this program to discuss the space economy and space commerce participants. We started off with Rich defining the space economy, opportunities within it, entrepreneurial activity, and sustainability. This is a must hear discussion and program. We also discussed Momentum Management, the three arenas for space commerce, which were listed as : space being relevant to security, space being relevant to the environment and energy, and space and universal communications.

Marshall Martin was the guest for this special Space Show program. Marshall is a faithful Space Show listener, an unaffiliated space advocate, and a listener that asks exceptionally good questions to a wide variety of Space Show guests. This interview started out by asking Marshall about his interest in space and how he comes up with so many unusually high quality questions for Space Show guests on a wide variety of topics. As you will hear when listening to the program, Marshall applies some engineering rules to his question process.

Broadcast 688 (Special Edition)

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson was the guest for this special edition Space Show program. Dr. Tyson began the program with a short discussion about the high cost of space access and how that might impact his arena with space-based telescopes. Listen to his reply, you might be surprised by what he has to say. We then jumped to the first chapter of his new book, "Death By Black Hole." This first chapter, Coming To Our Senses, talks about the reality of science and more. It seemed an appropriate way to lead off talking about science and related subjects with Dr. Tyson on The Space Show.

Broadcast 678 (Special Edition)

Dallas Bienhoff was the special guest for this Space Show program. Our discussion with Dallas focused on building an on orbit propellant depot to enhance and facilitate the VSE program with NASA and to also serve the developing private sector space community. Dallas took us through all phases of building a propellant depot and we discussed the four most significant hurdles: the cost of space access, zero g fuel transfer, long term cryogenic storage, and the autonomous rendezvous and docking necessary for the depot.

Broadcast 539 (Special Edition)

Dr. Larry DeLucas joined The Space Show guest family for this program to discuss protein crystallization in microgravity. Dr. DeLucas explained the basics to us, we spoke at length about both pharmaceutical and commercial interest and applications. We discussed space access and its costs in terms of doing something commercial in space regarding protein crystal growth. Dr. DeLucas explained the success ratio, compared it to growing proteins on Earth, talked about the need for a gentle re-entry and what that means, why the g-force will damage the proteins, and much more.

Broadcast 422 (Special Edition)

This Space Show program featured the first ever Space Property Rights Legal Panel with Wayne White, Rosanna Sattler, Jim Dunstan, and Berin Michael Szoka. The panel began this intensive and comprehensive space property rights discussion with a basic introduction to the issue of space property rights, focusing on the Outer Space Treaty along with the other U.N. treaties impacting and helping to create the existing property rights regime. This is an in-depth discussion you will not want to miss.
