Dr. Paul Spudis, 66, died yesterday. The Space Show and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Paul. He was both a personal friend and one of the best ever and most liked guests to be on The Space Show. He will be missed. Paul was also a leader and strong advocate for returning to the Moon, he was a no nonsense guy, grounded in reality and science. Paul was a very special person and a special guest that was frequently on The Space Show. Paul first appeared on The Space Show July 5, 2004. All his shows are archived and can easily be located and played by typing his name in the search box in the upper right hand corner of our home page. I believe Paul was a guest on the show 21 times including several Hotel Mars programs, and one Space Show Classroom program.
Programs this week, Friday, August 31 and Sunday, Sept. 2 Open Lines will be dedicated to Paul's memory as well as to honor him. Our Open Lines program planned for this coming Sunday, Sept. 2 will feature a discussion about Paul.
The Space Show and I extends our sympathy, thoughts, and prayers to his wife Anne and his family. I met Anne once and want her to know just how loved Paul was by all of us
Paul, we will miss you very much.
