Will responded to multiple email questions and comments plus a few phone calls. He was asked several questions about the evidence supporting what he had to say about the early period of the universe and at one point he said there was some information that one could work with regarding the cold and dark time of the universe before the Big Bang. Our guest talked extensively about the subject of inflation, the modern theory of it, and the cosmic microwave background radiation. He provided us with very good explanations so from my perspective, this is a 75 minute outstanding discussion WITH EXPLANATIONS that were easily understood. In fact, our guest did say that his book was written more for the non-physics reader than for his peers.
Fremont John sent in a note before the show since he was unable to listen live. John asked about the horizon problem mentioned in his book and looking back through time. I read John's question in full so do listen to it and Will's answer. This question and the response by our guest has shown up on blog commentary about this program. While I did not mention Dr. Brandenburg by name, I did ask our guest about GEM Unification theories keeping in mind that Dr. B believes his theory is spot on. Will did not think there were any accurate GEM Unification Theories but he said that was a type of Holy Grail to find such a theory. Before the program ended we talked about Dark Matter and Dark Energy.
