Annual Space Show/One Giant Leap Foundation Fundraising Drive For 2020

November 23, 2019

Dear Space Show Listeners:

My best wishes to all of you for an enjoyable Thanksgiving, upcoming Holiday Season, and New Year. The Space Show and I personally wish you a terrific 2020 chocked full of health, happiness, economic prosperity, and of course, a peaceful world with lots of positive space activities for all our benefit. Significant and productive space development, the continued commercial space expansion and more benefit all of us across the Earth.  2020 will be a pivotal year for space and The Space Show/OGLF looks forward to playing its part in successfully promoting space for the positive outcome all of us want.

I want to say a very special Thank You to all of you who have so generously supported The Space Show/One Giant Leap Foundation (OGLF) during this and previous years. The success of The Space Show is your success and you are appreciated in more ways than you can imagine. For 2019, we maintained our base of four programs per week, not including The John Batchelor Hotel Mars program on Wednesday which is pre-recorded in the Batchelor studios in NYC.  In addition, we added many special programs during the year, building program on Monday evening and Thursday evening when called upon or needed. Our guests were the best ever during the year, always on the cutting edge of space topics. As we are already booking early 2020 guests, I assure you the guest quality is continuing and will continue throughout 2020. Remember, your guest suggestions are always more than welcome.

The Space Show relies entirely upon your support for its continued operation and programming, and in being able to make its content freely available to everyone on the internet. All funds go to Space Show operations.  The Space Show enables authors, artists, film producers and others with special content to fully promote their material to our global audience free of charge. Given the activity with our archived programming, this promotion for those guests with content (and all others too) is very long lasting and ongoing to a very large global market. In order to maintain our independence, we never take fees from guests to be on the program. Given our policy, we do need your help to continue with The Space Show, to improve our programming, provide the toll free number for all of you to use as well as our blog. We will continue, with your help and assistance, to produce a quality space message with excellent content. In addition to The Space Show being available for those guests with special content, we also feature guests that are creative, scientific, oriented toward sound and cutting edge engineering, space history and policy, and guests that have theories, ideas, and views, even if outside the box. You can continue to help us maintain this unique format for 2020 by supporting us through donations to One Giant Leap Foundation (www.onegiantleapfoundation.org),  our nonprofit Space Show parent. We understand that you have choices in your tax deductible contributions so we certainly appreciate your including us in your gift priorities.

The year 2019 is quickly coming to a close. Now is the time to support The Space Show/OGLF by making a contribution to help maintain and further develop our programming and features. If you pay U.S. federal taxes, you get a tax deduction for your gift as permitted by law. The same is true for those of you paying California taxes. I recommend that all of you check with your tax adviser regarding any and all tax questions. You are also welcome to contact me with your questions and comments about the show. Above all, please remember that we do need and we do appreciate your support. I can easily be reached at drspace@thespaceshow.com.

You can make your donation online using PayPal via the new large banner ad at the top of The Space Show website (www.thespaceshow.com). The new banner announces our 2020 annual campaign. Just click on PayPal. There is also a large PayPal button on the upper right of our home page plus on our One Giant Leap Foundation site, www.onegiantleapfoundation.org/individuals.htm. If you prefer mailing a check, please make the check payable to One Giant Leap Foundation and mail it in care of me to P.O. Box 95, Tiburon, CA 94920 USA. It is your gift that makes possible The Space Show programming and all of the services we provide as mentioned above. Your generosity makes it possible to bring to all of you, on a global level, a wide diversity of topics, issue discussions, factual information, and innovative guests from around the world. Your gift also makes it possible to provide listeners with real time and archive access to our guests via the toll free line, our blog, and email.

Again, thank you for your support. We could not have been here for 19 years without your being with us all of the way.  I look forward to sharing the New Year with you through The Space Show and the One Giant Leap Foundation. Do contact me at drspace@thespaceshow.com if you have any questions. Let's all work to make 2020 a banner year for space, prosperity, health, and peace around the world. And The Space Show!

Sincerely yours,

Dr. David Livingston
