John Batchelor and I welcomed back Dr. Haym Benaroya to discuss China and Russia's lunar development plans including the ILRS -International Lunar Research Station which they say will be open to all. We talked about the state of both the Chinese and Russian lunar program plus safety for Chinese and Russians on the Moon. At times we compared where the US is today with where China and Russia are today. Note the comparisons around spacesuits and safety with lunar regolith. Our guest of honor talked about Chinese motivation and Russian science and military motivation. Multiple other topics were talked about in the 19 minute Hotel Mars program.
Please post your comments/questions for this discussion on our blog for this show.
