The Space Foundation Conference

Guests:  Dr. David Livingston;  Topics:  Multiple callers on a wide variety of topics over a 2.5 hour time period.  Our discussions on this show regarding space activity and return to the Moon naysayers was likely the dominant topic for this program.  Don't miss the discussions, especially Kim's at the end of the program

Please direct all comments and questions regarding specific Space Show programs & guest(s) to the Space Show blog which is part of archived program on our website, www.thespaceshow.com.   Comments and questions should be relevant to the specific Space Show program. Welcome to our 2.5 hour Open Lines program.  We covered topics presented by multiple callers, most of which are represented by the above key words.  I also gave a tribute to the late Dr. Gil Levin, requested support for the ongoing Space Show survey for the Space Show history book I am working on plus I made announcements for future programs and Space Show Scheduling.  Of the topics discussed, again as reflected in the tags and key words (please check them out), the naysayer topic was number one.  Suggestions came in to do a debate plus having naysayers on the show. I put out a call for suggestions on who to invite for such a debate, especially on the naysayer side.  I welcome your suggestions which you can make by posting on the blog or emailing me.

Another topic dealt with the Starship acoustic signature but I deferred to the upcoming Tuesday program with Dr. Benaroya.  As that show as last night, Haym did address that issue in the last 30 minutes of the 91 minute program.

Fremont John called in with about 14 topics worth mentioning, including specific company activities.  Don't miss his list of businesses and events including synthetic geology, specific company information, and much more.  Mike Listner called up front regarding suborbital, billionaires in space and some of the PR surrounding the recent events.  I believe this call was the initial listener response to my naysayer comment in my introductory comments.  It led to talking about tangible benefits for space tourism and other space activities.

We got off on a side topic about farms, Bill Gates and farm land ownership and the economics of farm ownership plus tax law changes for farms. Marshall called in to give us his perspective on the family farm as he own and works one.   While it was a digression from space, it was an interesting discussion topic.

Another caller mentioned Starship testing and landing in the ocean near Kuai.  That led to some comments about the recent Russian docking problem at the ISS.  Kim's was the last call and a good one with her contribution to the naysayer topic.  Don't miss what Kim had to say.  She also mentioned a Scott Manley video indicating that the Eagle capsule from Apollo days might still be in orbit around the Moon after all these years.  Don't miss her comments on this issue.

Please post comments/questions on our blog for this show. If you want to reach any of our callers, let me know.

Please take The Space Show survey talked about up front as I am looking for this information for the book I am working on for our first 20 years.
