Rick Sterling was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Sterling spent considerable time outlining his views, based on his research which includes the statements and comments by leading space scientists and researchers, that most likely there are artifacts on the Moon and on Mars. In addition, Mr. Sterling strongly supported the new space policy initiative for returning to the Moon and sending humans to Mars as proposed by President Bush. He made the case over and over again as to why such space exploration is fundamental to our nation, that President Bush is on the right course with this program and that the reality should be that a program of this type should be non-partisan due to its overwhelming importance for the nation and the world. Mr. Sterling fielded many questions that were political in nature, especially questions about the likelihood of those challenging President Bush in the coming election will stay the course on this type of space policy program. Mr. Sterling also directed our attention to important NASA budget documents outlining the very reasonable costs for implementing this program and the significance of the Mars program research for fighting terrorism here at home and around the world. Mr. Sterling has brought a fresh point of view to Space Show listeners on many topics, some of which are seldom discussed on this program. His passion, coupled with his knowlege and understanding of space development and its value for us all, makes his message a very important one for all of us.
