The Space Foundation Conference

Broadcast 652 (Special Edition)

Rocketman (Dan Schlund) was the guest for this special Space Show program. Rocketman (Dan) puts on a rocket belt/pack, and blasts off flying with a rocket to entertain crowds, students, everyone. In talking to Dan for this two hour show, we learned a lot about rockets, flying with one, about being a stuntman, and even about professional fireworks displays. Dan talked about fear with the rocket belt and how fear is useful, even necessary. We extrapolated much of what he said about fear and rockets to astronauts riding the rocket and also to the developing space tourism industry.

Broadcast 547 (Special Edition)

Dr. Michael Gruntman, Chair of Astronautics at the Viterbi School Engineering of USC was the special guest for this Space Show program. As author of the superb book, "Blazing the Trail: The Early History of Spacecraft and Rocketry," we started our discussion with questions pertaining to the history of rockets starting with Asia and moving to Greece and Egypt. We talked about rockets and their development by military's and wars throughout the centuries up to the current period. I asked Dr. Gruntman where we would be in the development of rocketry if we did not have wars and armies.

During this program, we discussed the prospects of antigravity research resulting in tangible methods to allow a different quality of space access than what we now have with rockets. Mr.
