Dr. Marshall Kaplan was our guest on The Space Show for this program which covered launch vehicles, the commercial space industry, space policy, debris removal, and Launchspace.com classes. In our first segment, we discussed some of the finding by the Augustine Commission and talked about the likely flight profile for Ares 1 and Ares 5 and inquired about heavy lift.

Guest: William Grahame was the guest for this Space Show program to discuss hypersonic R&D, programs, and flight. We began the discussion with a short summary of some of the existing or better known hypersonic and scramjet programs including Hi-Fire, Blackswift, and Falcon. We talked about development of these vehicles needing to come from the military side of things, not civil or the private sector. We also talked about educating the public as to why hypersonic vehicles are important and how the press is probably not that aware of their importance.

Guest: Tom Olson was the guest for this Space Show program to debrief us on the IAC 2008 conference recently held in Glasgow, Scotland. However, we first spent a few minutes talking about the case of Walt Anderson, the website which Tom created to explain the case against Walt and provide all relevant information about Walt, www.justiceforwalt.com. After discussing Walt Anderson, we then moved on to talking about the various sessions, the major talk by NASA Administrator Dr.

Guest: Chris Carberry, Executive Director of The Mars Society, returned for this Space Show program. As Chris was in attendance at ISDC 2008, we opened our discussion with a review of the presidential candidates' representatives who made presentations at ISDC this year. Here we talked about the questions asked by Miles O'Brien of CNN, the lack of knowledge by the representatives about important space issues such as ITAR, and the overall disappointment felt across the board by the poor showing and low level of interest evidenced during this sessions by those on the panel.

Guest: Rand Simberg, who blogs at Transterrestrial Musings (www.transterrestrial.com/), was the guest on the show. Rand recently wrote an article about the possible space policies from each of the three leading American presidential candidates and we wanted him to talk about his views on this subject right here on The Space Show.
