Guest: Dr. Scott "Doc" Horowitz. Topics: Ares 1, space policy, SRBs, rocket safety, commercial space, COTS. Dr. Scott "Doc" Horowitz was our guest for this Space Show program to discuss NASA today, the current space policy debate, rocket safety and much more. In our first segment, Doc started us off by congratulating Space X for a very successful Falcon 9 launch on June 4th.

Guest: Chris Carberry. Topics: Explore Mars, Inc, Mars goals and time tables. Chris Carberry is the Executive Director and co-founder of the new organization, Explore Mars, Inc. (www.exploremars.org) which was created to promote science and technology innovation and education with a use for Mars Exploration. In our first segment, Chris went into detail as to why his group thought it necessary to form a new Mars organization and he explained their early focus on prizes.

Guest: Dr. Pascal Lee. Topics: Phobos, Mars, SETI & the Drake Equation, space policy. Dr. Pascal Lee returned to The Space Show for an exciting discussion on several relevant and most interesting topics. In our fist segment , we discussed humans to Phobos and Deimos before going to Mars. Dr. Lee explained why these were better initial destinations than Mars, especially Phobos. Did you know that it would be less costly to go to Phobos than our Moon? This is a very comprehensive discussion that you will not want to miss.

Guest: Brent Sherwood. Topics: NASA Flexible Path based on the Augustine Commission Report. Brent Sherwood returned for this Space Show program to present a detailed discussion the potential NASA Flexible Path for our coming civil space policy. In our first segment, Mr. Sherwood explained the basis of the Short Study conducted by various NASA centers and participants during the Fall 2009. Brent was the Study Coordinator. This is an important discussion as Brent outlines the purpose of the study, who participated, why, and much more.

Guest: Dr. Arlin Crotts. Topics: water on the Moon, liquid mirror telescopes, space exploration, NASA budget. Dr. Arlin Crotts was our guest for this show regarding his work on water on the Moon. Please read his Oct. 12, 2009 Space Review article, "Water on the Moon," www.thespacereview.com/article//1485/1. Our first segment started with a detailed and most interesting discussion on liquid mirror telescopes. We then switched to the main topic for the program, water on the Moon. Dr.

Dr. Pascal Lee returned to The Space Show for this program. We began our discussion with Dr. Lee about Mars and its importance with the VSE. Dr. Lee also explained why the Moon is an important part of realizing the vision to go to Mars. We also spoke about radiation issues for long term space flight to Mars and nuclear electric propulsion for faster transit times to and from Mars. Pascal then spoke to us about the importance of visiting Phobos and the Martian moons, maybe even before going to Mars. You will not want to miss this important part of this interview.
