Guest: Dr. Eligar Sadeh. Topics: 2009 National Space Forum, space policy and strategic planning, space globalization, human spaceflight. Dr. Eligar Sadeh was the guest for this show to discuss the recently concluded 2009 National Space Forum which was held in Washington, DC from September 1-2, 2009. Dr. Sadeh started the first segment with an overview of the National Space Forum, a discussion of the need for space deterrent strategies, and our current lack of strategic thinking in the space arena. We both noted as did the Forum just how dependent the U.S.

Guest: Declan O'Donnell. Topics: space governance, United Societies in Space, science development. Declan O'Donnell returned as The Space Show guest to discuss space governance and the unique concept of the Space Authority Bank as a way to finance space development. During Segment 1, Declan provided us with the basics for this discussion starting with the five United Nations space treaties, the basics of space governance, and a comparison of the U.S. concept of space as a frontier as contrasted to the Canadian experience of frontier development with their Mounties.

Dr. John Brandenburg was our returning guest for this program to discuss his latest science fiction novel written under his pen name, Victor Norgarde, "Asteroid 20-2012 Sepulveda: The Cosmos Plays Hardball.

Guests: Julie Jiru and Vicki Ann Belleau. Topics: space and telecom law, University of Nebraska Space & Telecom Law LL.M program, commercial and civil space. Julie Jiru and Vicki Ann Belleau were with us on today's Space Show program as they were part of the first ever class for the newly formed Space & Telecom Law Center with the University of Nebraska Law School in Lincoln, NE. Julie and Vicki talked about the program, its focus, classes offered, leading professors and guest speakers, plus conferences that they attended as part of their program.

Guest (first hour): Professor Joanne Gabrynowicz was the guest for this special Space Show television show filmed on location in beautiful Cape Canaveral, Florida. We started our interview by discussing the relevance of space law as well as recent changes in this area, particularly in regards to Earth observation and remote sensing. Professor Gabrynowicz went over the original purpose of satellites for scientific research and the process by which countries agree to make relevant data freely available to countries affected by a natural disaster.

Guest : Charles Chafer, co-founder of Celestis and CEO of Space Services, Inc., returned for this Space Show program to discuss updates with Celestis. We talked about the new lunar space burial program as Celestis has formed agreements with two Google Lunar X-Prize teams, Odyssey Moon and the Astrobotic Team. There were many listener questions about both the lunar burial service as well as suborbital, orbital, deep space, and even a potential Martian and NEO burial service.

Dr. Marilyn Dudley-Rowley and Thomas Gangale were the guests for this special Space Show program to discuss astrosociology and its importance to long term spaceflight. We discussed the need for a paradigm to get the issues we discussed into the engineering and design of spacecraft and policy making. Our two guests also talked about some of the long duration spaceflight issues that we need to be concerned with and how the issues founded in sociology different from typical human factors approaches to humans in space.

This Space Show program featured the first ever Space Property Rights Legal Panel with Wayne White, Rosanna Sattler, Jim Dunstan, and Berin Michael Szoka. The panel began this intensive and comprehensive space property rights discussion with a basic introduction to the issue of space property rights, focusing on the Outer Space Treaty along with the other U.N. treaties impacting and helping to create the existing property rights regime. This is an in-depth discussion you will not want to miss.
