We started segment one with Ed taking us through his Navy nuclear training and his advanced technology career assignments and work. During this discussion, Ed told us about products, projects, and technologies, how they were created, funded, developed and when possible, implemented. Its a good discussion and most informative so don't miss it.

Guest: Paul Breed. Topics: Lunar Lander Challenge (LLC), rocket technology, space vision and policy. We welcomed Paul Breed back to The Space Show to discuss his recent LLC experiences. We started our first segment with Paul giving us an update as to this year's LLC and the Unreasonable Rocket effort to win both phases, the 90 second and the 180 second phase. Dr. Erik Seedhouse was our guest today to discuss his book, "Lunar Outpost: The Challenges of Establishing a Human Settlement on the Moon." As we started the program, we asked Dr. Seedhouse about Air Force Captain Joe Kittinger's parachute jump from the edge of space given that Dr. Seedhouse was with the legendary 2nd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, the world's most elite airborne regiment.

Guest: Greg Meholic. Topics: Tri-Space Model of the Universe, Faster-than-Light Travel, advanced propulsion theories. Greg Meholic returned to The Space Show to discuss the Tri-Space Model of the University and much more. In Segment one, we started out by talking about light. Specifically, luminal space and superluminal space. Our discussion went deeper into understanding space time and out of the box theories supporting the possibility of faster-than-light travel. While this was a technical discussion, I'm sure you can follow it and Greg is available to answer your questions or comments.

Guest: Norman J. Gerstein was the guest for this special Space Show program. Mr. Gerstein was deeply involved in Rover/NERVA and we discussed these programs in detail. He was part of the KIWI-TNT team and involved in the cleanup by picking up the debris with a wheelbarrow and tongs. Norm described these programs in detail along with the nuclear rocket which we compared to chemical rockets. Norm made it very clear that one needs a mission to do these programs. Another way of saying it, is to make sure there is a need. Since there was no need (no mission), the programs were cancelled.

Guest: Dr. James A. Dewar. Dr. James Dewar returned to The Space Show to explain and discuss nuclear rockets and what they would mean for space and economic development were they to be used to obtain low cost space access. Dr. Dewar began our discussion with a good explanation of how a nuclear rocket engine works and the advantages such an engine provides in terms of specific impulse. An engine with a higher specific impulse means a significantly larger payload can be brought to space faster than if the engine had a lower specific impulse.
