John Batchelor and I welcomed back Eric Berger to discuss the recent Blue Origin announcement of their Orbital Reef Partnership plan for a commercial LEO space station. Eric discussed the financing and investment plus who might pay for special added on modules for a space hotel or a manufacturing module. We also talked about the investment Bezos might personally make but Eric suggested that NASA might be the main financial partner for the coming future. We also talked about potential markets for commercial space stations and the probability of a LEO boom for private space stations. Much of our discussion focused on the potential market for such stations plus Eric suggested that there might be a killer commercial space station application in the near future but uncertainty exists today. Eric pointed out that the actual termination date of the ISS mattered to commercial space station players and depending on that final date, my delay the advent of the commercial stations. He did say there was a type of space station race going on and NASA seemed bent on making sure there was no gap in
