John Batchelor and I welcomed Professor Avi Loeb to Hotel Mars for a two segment program focused on his new book per above, the unexplained anomalies of Oumuamua, searching for more interstellar objects, the blowback for his suggesting a possible extraterrestrial origin for this strange fast moving interstellar object and more. To the point, Avi talked about the reaction to his ET origin theory, the lack of open mindedness in science and what it does to students wanting science careers. John asked Avi about the unpublished Winston Churchill essay that was recently found titled "Are we alone in the universe." We also asked our guest for the search criteria as new telescopes come on line and we look for more of these interstellar objects coming toward us. Don't forget that Avi said the best way to get information is to photograph them as they come toward us. He talked about sending up rockets to intercept the object and with cubesats take photos and get them back to Earth. I wonder if we have rockets capable of such an intercept photographic mission on the spur of the moment. What do you think about that?
