Re: 2018 Support The Space Show
Dear Space Show Listeners:
The Space Show/One Giant Leap Foundation (OGLF) is now actively engaged in our annual fundraising campaign which will go through the end of the year. The Space Show is 100% listener supported. We need your support to continue our services and programming for 2019. If you like The Space Show, please support us for without your support our current level of programming and show availability is at risk.
For the new year 2019, The Space Show would like very much to maintain its present program scheduling. Because our format focuses on live discussions with multiple phone lines inserted into the mix, our production costs are high. The Space Show does not do pre-recorded programming other than with the Hotel Mars format but that program and format is controlled by John Batchelor, not The Space Show. The Space Show welcomes your ideas for programming and positive changes to the program.
Those of you that listen to Space Show program know I frequently appeal for your financial support. This is because your financial support keeps The Space Show on the air. It really is that simple. Your financial support keeps Space Show coming your way. Don't forget, we never take fees from guests to be on the program, even when we are helping a guest (maybe even you) promote books, movies, or other IP, including unique ideas and theories. Many of you benefit from this opportunity, even those of you calling shows or Open Lines to promote what you do without being a "formal" guest on the program. `Just as The Space Show supports you with free marketing services for YOUR product, we do need and ask for your support in return.
The Space Show is a non-profit 501C3 and California Public Benefit Corporation. Our parent 501C3 corporation is the One Giant Leap Foundation (OGLF) (www.onegiantleapfoundation.org). We understand that you have choices in making your end of the year tax deductible contributions and we certainly appreciate your including us in your gifting priorities. The sponsor gets their banner ad on The Space Show home page plus I read a 60 second or less sponsor message on each Space Show program (there are a few exceptions such as when we do the 60 minute shows).
