John Batchelor and I welcomed back Dr. David Grinspoon for this double segment of Hotel Mars, first to discuss the discovery of the Earth-like exoplanet only 11 light years from Earth, Ross 128B. For the second segment, we focused our high speed interstellar visitor known as Oumuamua (A2017 U1). Dr. Grinspoon crammed in lots of great information and exciting news about both the exoplanet and the high speed visitor so this is definitely a Hotel Mars program you do not want to miss. For example, did you know that in about 80,000 years, Ross 128 will be the closest star to Earth and Exoplanet 128B will be closer to us than any other exoplanet ever as it is moving toward Earth. As for our high speed interstellar friend, did you know that will actually slow down a bit as it heads out of our solar system and the influence of our sun toward the Ort Cloud?
