Dr. Neville Marzwell was the guest for this Space Show program. We began this program asking Dr. Marzwell about the VSE from his vantage point. I mentioned that in recent shows I was caught a bit off guard by guests that were not supportive of the manned mission to the Moon, plus the fact that the VSE does not seem to grab the attention of the non-space public the way going to the Moon did for my generation in the 60's. Dr. Marzwell cited specific survey results about what people want regarding space development and returning to the Moon was not high on the list, nor was awareness of the VSE high on the list. You will certainly want to hear about this survey and its findings. We then discussed how space could be used to deliver benefits to the nation and to people to energize our interest and enthusiasm in space development. Dr. Marzwell then talked with us about energy, weather modification, and technology in general. He received many listener questions on these subjects, especially SSP and its applications for Earth at this time. He was asked how SSP would impact our usage of oil which is primarily for transportation and SSP is about power generation, not fuel for transportation. You will want to hear his response. We also talked about the fuel delivery problems regarding the military in Iraq and Afghanistan and the need for safer fuel delivery methods. Again, don't miss this discussion. We talked politics and listeners asked Dr. Marzwell many important questions along the political lines and even on ITAR as we were coming up on the end of the program. Dr. Marzwell was asked about the private sector and the entrepreneurial start-ups and he was extremely optimistic and positive about the role this sector is now playing and can play in our space economy. We talked about education, inspiration, youth and space development. I believe this is a very important Space Show program. Even if you disagree with him about delaying the manned missions to the Moon and to Mars, I urge you to listen carefully to what Dr. Marzwell is saying and advocating.
