Guest: Dr. Pete Worden. Topics: Space policy, NASA Ames, space biology, small sats, inspiration. We welcomed back Dr. Pete Worden, Director of NASA Ames for this special one hour program. We started our discussion with a focus on US space policy and our future in space. Dr. Worden supported the presidential plan and since Congress does not yet have a final, approved policy, we did not address the congressional ideas to date. Dr. Worden explained in detail why the presidential plan was good for our space policy.

Guest: Brian Shiro. Topics: FMARS, Mars analog simulation, life on Devon Island & in the Arctic Circle. Brian Shiro was our guest today to discuss his recent experiences at the Mars Society Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station on Devon Island in the Canadian Arctic (FMARS). Guest: Open Lines with Dr. David Livingston. Topics: Media interviews and privacy, NASA, Ares 1 and pork, Iran, How to be a guest on The Space Show. This two hour program was an Open Lines program divided into three segments. During the first segment, I covered a few topics and issues that I thought needed airing and discussing. Our guests, James Pura and Ryan McLinko are the co-chairs of the upcoming NewSpace 2009 conference to be held July 17-20 at NASA Ames in Mountain View, Ca. We talked about the $5,000 Heinlein Prize that will be given to the winner of the business plan competition.

Dr. Angie Bukley returned to The Space Show to discuss the upcoming summer session for the International Space University (ISU) which will be held this year at NASA Ames. Our guests, Nancy Conrad and Josh Neubert, brought us up to date with the Conrad Awards which will be announced at the Innovation Generation Summit at the NASA Ames Conference Center from April 2-4, 2009.

Guest: Kris Kimel, president and founder of KSTC, was the guest for this Space Show program to discuss Kentucky Space (Please see : www.kentuckyspace.com for more details). Mr. Kimel explained the origins of Kentucky Space and later in the show, he told us about his ambitious 2009 plans which include three balloon launches and up to two suborbital launches.

Guest: Al Globus returned as a guest for this Space Show program. We started our discussion with a comprehensive overview of the NASA Space Settlement Contest that Al helped start several years ago. As we learned, the contest is open to those in grades 6-9 and 10-12 or their foreign equivalent. Each group is judged separately other than for the grand prize.
