Guest: Dr. Thais Russomano. Topics: Space medicine and life sciences in Brazil, space tourism, space medicine graduate studies. We welcomed for the first time to The Space Show Dr. Thais Russomano, a space life scientist in Brazil. During our first segment, Dr. Russomano told us about her childhood interest in astronomy and space and said she wanted to be an astronaut. Later in the program, she talked about what happened in the astronaut selection process in Brazil as the process favored the military.

Guests: CLASSROOM: Dr. Jim Logan, Dr. John Jurist. Topics: Lesson 8, Human Factors Part Two. Drs. Logan and Jurist returned for this Classroom program which focused on long duration human spaceflight. As we started our first segment, I asked our guests what constituted long duration spaceflight. The working definition centered around spaceflight more than six months to a year in duration and any human spaceflight going beyond LEO.

Guest: Dr. John Jurist. Topics: Space medicine and women's health issues, bone loss, microgravity. Dr. John Jurist was our guest for this show which focused on how our modern spaceflight technology has contributed not only to cutting edge women's health care, but better healthcare for us all over several past decades. Guest: Edward McCullough. Topics: Nuclear, advanced technology, lunar manufacturing, Mars. Ed McCullough returned for this two hour plus Space Show program. We started segment one with Ed taking us through his Navy nuclear training and his advanced technology career assignments and work. During this discussion, Ed told us about products, projects, and technologies, how they were created, funded, developed and when possible, implemented. Its a good discussion and most informative so don't miss it.

We started our first segment with a welcome to Dennis Stone to The Space Show and began talking about the World Space Week Association and program. We started our discussion with NASA given his recent position as Chief of all NASA space and Earth science missions. We talked about the his missions, how to cut costs and save money, the proper balance with the science and the human spaceflight part of NASA, the best use of the ISS, private spaceflight and NASA, and much more. We then moved on to the entrepreneurial private sector as Dr.

Guest: Irene Schneider returned to The Space Show for this program to discuss the Phoenix Lander on Mars, radiation, and Martian astrobiology including the search for present and/or past microbial life on Mars. Our discussion with Irene covered many topics as we took a close look at the ongoing search for microbial life on Mars, how it is being carried out, and what the chances are for finding such life on Mars. We talked about the harsh environment and noted that even here on Earth life can exist in extremes, even in high radiation, so why not on Mars?
