Guest : Greg Meholic was the guest for this Space Show program. Greg specializes in advanced space propulsion concepts for interstellar travel. As a member of the AIAA Nuclear and Future Flight Propulsion Technical Committee and as the chair of the Future Flight sessions at the Joint Propulsion Conferences, Mr. Meholic was especially qualified to guide us through some very out-of-the-box and quite advanced propulsion possibilities.

Guest : Andrew Thorpe, author of "The Commercial Space Station: Methods and Markets" was the guest for this Space Show program. We began our discussion with Andrew explaining why the current ISS is not the commercial space station he talks about in his book. You will want to hear this distinction. We then discussed a series of potential markets in space including microgravity, protein crystal growth, space tourism, and more.

Guests: Space Cynics Shubber Ali, Tom Olson, and me (DrSpace aka Professor L) met for this interview in the hotel coffee shop for an in-person discussion featuring the Cynics' view of several of the topics discussed at ISDC 2008. This was the first ever in-person Cynics show, but we hope to offer you more and with our fourth Cynic, Old Space Cadet, who could not be with us this year. We were also joined by Reda Anderson, who is now an Honorary Space Cynic. The gloves were taken off and our discussion was hard-hitting on many topics.

Guest: Amaresh Kollipara, Founder and Managing Partner of Earth2Orbit, LLC, was the guest for today. During the first segment of the show, Amaresh told us about Earth2Orbit and the procurement of commercial launch services using Indian launchers. As a result of listener questions and comments, Amaresh discussed student and academic payloads as potential customers for his services, he outlined a time table and the preliminaries of their business plan for starting out with about a launch per quarter or four launches per year.

Guest: Per Wimmer. Per Wimmer of Wimmer Space and Wimmer Financial was the guest for this Space Show program. During the first segment, we discussed basic business requirements for entrepreneurial space businesses and start-up companies to follow when seeking venture capital or other financing. Mr. Wimmer grouped these requirements into three main areas focusing on: making early returns for the business and establishing cash flow, quality management teams, and a quality market analysis.

Guests: Dr. Charles Lundquist, 1st hour; Dr. David Livingston, 2nd hour. Dr. Charles Lundquist was the guest for the first hour of this Space Show program. He was one of the original team members who launched Explorer 1, America's first satellite in space, on Jan. 31, 1958. Listen to Dr. Lundquist tell the story of Explorer 1, his work with the Von Braun team, the Army Ballistic Missile Center at the Redstone Arsenal and much more. David Urie was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Urie, recently with the Rocketplane Kistler Group, is now a consultant regarding space business development. With space engineering experience pre-dating Sputnik 1, we talked in detail about rocket engineering, technology, markets, and economics. We discussed the feasibility of suborbital space tourism, orbital space tourism, the $100/lb to LEO cost, the Marine Space Transportation Vehicle and much more. Listeners asked lots of questions about Rocketplane, fuel placement on a passenger vehicle, the need for space suits, and more.
