This discussion evolved into the vision for returning to the Moon and the need for a lunar exit strategy so we don't get bogged down and not go anyplace else in the solar system. Dr.

Guests: Dr. Sean Case, Fred Bourgeois, Richard Core, Wade Butcher, Mike Barrucco for Team FREDNET. Topics: Team FREDNET and the Google Lunar X Prize. Team FREDNET was our guest for this show, talking about its open source approach to designing its Google Lunar X Prize entry. Our guests talked about the Web 2.0 tools being used on their site for open source, including their forum, and how it was bringing people together in a collaborative effort for their lunar project. We also discussed the downstream commercial value for going to the Moon, especially after the contest ends.

Guest: Dr. Robert (Bob) Richards was our guest for this Space Show program. We started our discussion with an update on the Optech meteorological lidar unit flown aboard the NASA Phoenix Mars Lander. As Bob reported to us, all worked to their complete satisfaction with the unit. We started the interview with a discussion on lunar commerce and why Dennis and others believe we need to develop the Moon for the benefit of us all here on Earth. We also discussed extending he life of the ISS. Dennis repeated the need for frequent access to space and the ISS, identifying some important potential markets.

Guest: David Hoerr, co-author of "The Rocket Company," was the guest for this Space Show program. We started our discussion on the topic of Point A to Point B suborbital transportation as David had written a thoughtful piece on the subject in The Space Review on May 5, 2008. David received lots of listener questions about the military version of Point A to Point B suborbital transportation, commercial versions, the market for such versions, and the advances needed in technology.

Guests: Space Cynics Shubber Ali, Tom Olson, and me (DrSpace aka Professor L) met for this interview in the hotel coffee shop for an in-person discussion featuring the Cynics' view of several of the topics discussed at ISDC 2008. This was the first ever in-person Cynics show, but we hope to offer you more and with our fourth Cynic, Old Space Cadet, who could not be with us this year. We were also joined by Reda Anderson, who is now an Honorary Space Cynic. The gloves were taken off and our discussion was hard-hitting on many topics.

Peter Kokh, President of The Moon Society (www.themoonsociety.org), was the guest for this Space Show program. We led off with a definition of The Moon Society, what it does, and what its doing to promote and help facilitate the Vision for Space Exploration and the Return to the Moon. In response to a question, Peter compared the Moon Society to the Mars Society and described how The Moon Society supports lunar development and settlement as well as the same for Mars.

Steve Durst and Charles Bohannan have organized and put together the International Lunar Conference to be held in Hawaii from November 16-22, 2003. Steve and Charles discuss this conference, why it is taking place in Hawaii and the significance of the location. They also discuss the international aspect of the conference, especially with India and China. In addition, we discuss lunar commerce, an observatory on the Moon, humans to Jupiter and the outer solar system, and Mars.
