We also discussed extending he life of the ISS. Dennis repeated the need for frequent access to space and the ISS, identifying some important potential markets.

Broadcast 963 (Special Edition)

Guest: Homer Hickam was the guest for this special Space Show program. Mr. Hickam, author of "Rocket Boys," which was made into the acclaimed movie "October Sky," spoke with us about many topics and all of us had lots of fun while learning from someone who is, in my opinion, a true American hero. We started the discussion by asking him about his discovering two Tyrannosaurs in Montana. This took us directly to his early rocket launching days in Montana and putting Barbie dolls into space or near space. You have to hear this discussion to believe it.

Broadcast 953 (Special Edition)

Guests: ISDC Taped Interviews #2 with Sarah Pickens, Dr. Burton Lee, Frank White, David Beaver, Jeff Krukin, and Keith Ferrell. This is the second set of taped interviews from ISDC 2008 in Washington, DC. The three taped interviews are played back to back without breaks but there is a slight pause between each one. The first interview is with Sarah Pickens, daughter of Tim Pickens.

Broadcast 913 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Michael Neufeld was the guest for this Easter Sunday Space Show program. Dr. Neufeld is the chair of the Space History Division of the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum and author of the biography, "Von Braun: Dreamer of Space/Engineer of War." As today's program is on what would have been the 96th birthday of Von Braun, having a discussion on his life was most appropriate. We discussed Von Braun's Nazi past and Dr.Neufeld was clearing up myths and rumors, providing us with factual history regarding Von Braun.

Broadcast 887 (Special Edition)

Guests: Dr. Charles Lundquist, 1st hour; Dr. David Livingston, 2nd hour. Dr. Charles Lundquist was the guest for the first hour of this Space Show program. He was one of the original team members who launched Explorer 1, America's first satellite in space, on Jan. 31, 1958. Listen to Dr. Lundquist tell the story of Explorer 1, his work with the Von Braun team, the Army Ballistic Missile Center at the Redstone Arsenal and much more. Dr. Lundquist tells us some fascinating stories as we walk back in time with him as he helped make history that evening fifty years ago. Dr.

Broadcast 670 (Special Edition)

Rick Tumlinson returned for this special Space Show program. The first part of the interview was focused on visionary space leadership, the VSE, congress, how NASA does business, NASA leadership, and inspiration. Rick was at his best, you need to hear what he has to say and this discussion. As this two hour program developed, we altered the focus of the discussion to look into private commercial space development in general and then narrowed the focus to talk about his new business ventures. Rick's comments and insights regarding commercial space development are a must!
