The Suborbital Institute is the trade organization for suborbital space flight. Pat Bahn, its director, is also the CEO of TGV Rockets, a suborbital company shooting for commercial launches in 2005-6. Neil Milburn is part of the Armadillo Aerospace team and was with Pat at the quarterly Suborbital Institute meeting and lobbying program. Both Mr. Bahn and Mr. Milburn are deeply involved in working to make suborbital space flight commercially viable for the private sector. They and others in the suborbital launch industry have joined forces to advocate space access alternatives and specifically suborbital flight and space access to congress to facilitate proper policy, insurance industry acceptance, constructive regulations, and more.
Guests: Will Pomerantz, Todd Squires, Scott Zeeb, and Neil Milburn were the guests for this show which focused on the 2008 NASA Centennial Challenge Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge with $2 million in prize money to be won. We started the discussion with Will telling us about the Challenge, the rules, how the prize money is divided up, and how members of the public can follow this year's program as Holloman AFB will not be open to the general public.
