The Space Foundation Conference

Mark Canepa received his undergraduate degrees in History and Journalism from San Francisco State University and his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. In his professional life, he is a founding partner with the law firm of White | Canepa LLP in Fresno, California, where he represents physicians and other health care providers in expert-driven, medical malpractice cases throughout Central California. He has been recognized for the past two years as a California Super Lawyer; a distinction bestowed on less than 5% of attorneys practicing in California.

In the world of high-power rocketry, Mark is a member of both the Tripoli Rocketry Association and the National Association of Rocketry.  He has been involved in building and launching high-power rockets for nearly 25 years and is a level three certified flyer with both organizations. Prior to his current book, he was the author of Modern High-Power Rocketry and Modern High-Power Rocketry 2. Mark’s articles and photographs on high power have appeared in most of the major rocketry magazine of the last twenty years, including Sport Rocketry, Rockets Magazine, and Extreme Rocketry. He has covered rocket launches throughout the United States, reporting on notable events such as Red Glare in Maryland, Rocstock in Southern California, Southern Thunder in Tennessee, and many more. He has also covered multiple LDRS events—the largest, annual high-power rocketry launch in the world. LDRS is the acronym for the phrase “Large and Dangerous Rocket Ships.”
