The Space Foundation Conference

Joshua has extensive experience creating and managing innovative education programs, non-profit organizations, and incentive prize competitions with a specific background in aerospace exploration, planetary science, and education. He is currently the Executive Director of the Night Rover Challenge, a partnership between the Cleantech Open, Younoodle Inc., and NASA, where he leads the vision, direction, and implementation of the $1.5 Million prize. In 2008, prior to launching the Night Rover Challenge, Mr. Neubert joined forces with Nancy Conrad, wife of late Apollo 12 Commander Pete Conrad, to found the Conrad Foundation and create the Spirit of Innovation Awards – a high school science entrepreneurship program reaching over 2000 participants in its first 3 years. The program provided opportunities for students to create their own products in aerospace, energy, and other scientific disciplines. As the Foundation's Executive Director, Mr. Neubert used innovative education techniques to engage students in science and technology concepts and create a life-long impact on its participants. Previously Mr. Neubert also worked with other non-profit organization including leading a team at the X PRIZE Foundation to develop an annual two day educational experience for 12,000 students and 8,000 public attendees at the X PRIZE Cup. The Cup was an annual exposition and celebration of aerospace technology created by the X PRIZE Foundation with support from the New Mexico State government. Mr. Neubert was also the Director of the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space – a national non-profit organization creating a community for university and high school students to engage in real-world opportunities in aerospace exploration. Mr. Neubert received a Bachelors (2003) and Masters (2004) degree in Planetary Science from MIT with a dissertation on improving Lunar and Martian in-situ resource utilization to enhance planetary exploration.
