The Space Foundation Conference

Dr. Jim Logan held numerous positions in his twenty-two year career at NASA including Chief, Flight Medicine and Chief, Medical Operations at Johnson Space Center in Houston. He served as Mission Control Surgeon or Crew Surgeon for numerous space shuttle missions and Project Manager for the Space Station Medical Facility, developing the initial design for the first inflight medical delivery system for long duration missions.

A founding board member of the American Telemedicine Association, Dr. Logan has served a consultant to the RAND Corporation, a variety of professional organizations, international and domestic hospital-based health care systems and the Department of Defense. He was the first Provost for International Space University, Strasbourg, France.

Board certified in Aerospace Medicine, he completed a medical fellowship in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine at Duke University in 2013. A recipient of NASA’s Distinguished Speakers Award, Dr. Logan has lectured throughout North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand - including Russia and the Peoples Republic of China. As an expert in Bioastronautics and Deep Space settlement, he has been featured on the Public Broadcast System (PBS), CanadaAM, The History Channel, National Geographic Channel, numerous radio talk shows and a variety of print and online publications.

Dr. Logan is now the CEO and Co-founder of the Space Enterprise Institute, a non-profit 501c3 educational foundation.
