Dr. David C. Webb

For the past 25-years David Webb has been a consultant in the development of aerospace policies and related technical fields to government agencies, major corporations, universities and non-profit organizations nationally and internationally. He is considered an aerospace expert. He was elected Chairman of the Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Status with the Second United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, held in Vienna Austria. There he organized a 12-day program with 120 speakers from around the world covering a broad range of topics incorporating all aspects of space exploration and development. He was appointed by President Reagan as one of 15-members of the National Commission on Space, mandated by Congress to prepare a bold and visionary fifty-year space agenda for the United States. He has been invited to testify before Congressional Committees on a number of occasions and maintains contacts with the White House Office of Science and Technology, Congressional Committees on Science, Technology and Space, NASA, DOD, USAF, FAA, JPL, Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore Laboratories. He was founder of the Hypersonics Institute, researching issues related to the socio-economic aspects of the development of the National Aerospace Plane (NASP). In the corporate world he has advised on national and international technological, economic and policy development of space related issues with most of the major aerospace companies both here and abroad. In the educational world he has developed and implemented graduate level multidisciplinary space education curricula, IT and “virtual” programs and consulted on the development of multi-university, cross-cultural programs. Among the universities Dr. Webb has worked with are Harvard, Stanford, MIT, CalTech, Texas, Georgetown, William and Mary, University of North Dakota, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Central Florida. He also was the founding chairman of the International Space University now located in Strasbourg, France. An accomplished speaker, David Webb has given more than 500 invited speeches at numerous events here and abroad. In the media, he has appeared as an invited expert on CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN and PBS, as well as the CBC (Canada), BBC and ITV (England), Swedish TV and Japanese Television. He has also been the subject of, advisor to, and commentator on TV programs both in the U.S. and abroad. In the written media, he has been interviewed and quoted by the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, USA Today, Florida Today, Orlando Sentinel, among others, and has appeared in other newspapers in the U.S., Europe and Japan. Dr. Webb has been a Senior Member of the International Academy of Astronautics, a Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a Senior Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society. He has received a number of awards for his efforts: notably from the NASA/DOD National Aero-Space Plane Program, International Space University, International L5 Society, Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, as well as the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal for Meritorious Service from the Government of Canada. David Webb was born in Ireland, educated in Canada and the United States, and lives and works on Florida’s east coast.
