The Space Foundation Conference

Broadcast 1280 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. David Livingston and Open Lines. Topics: fusion, SSP, Green Energy, webcam for Space Show, Lunar Base. Today was a two hour Open Lines program. As soon as the program introduction was completed for the first segment, John Sved called from Germany to discuss fusion and his company, NSD-Fusion (see www.nsd-fusion.com). John spoke with us about Industrial Neutron Generators and his company activities.

Broadcast 1279 (Special Edition)

Guests: Tom Ligon; Michael Simon. Topics: Polywell fusion, fusion, space propulsion. Tom Ligon returned to The Space Show and we welcomed Michael Simon to update us on the Dr. Bussard fusion program with Polywell Fusion and more. We started our first segment with an overview of Dr. Bussard's fusion work.. Our gusts brought us current with the status of the EMC2 Fusion Development Corporation and explained Polywell Fusion, the concept of using Proton Boron-11 (PB-11) fuel, along with the idea of using HE3 on the Moon.

Broadcast 1212 (Special Edition)

Guest: Greg Meholic. Topics: Tri-Space Model of the Universe, Faster-than-Light Travel, advanced propulsion theories. Greg Meholic returned to The Space Show to discuss the Tri-Space Model of the University and much more. In Segment one, we started out by talking about light. Specifically, luminal space and superluminal space. Our discussion went deeper into understanding space time and out of the box theories supporting the possibility of faster-than-light travel. While this was a technical discussion, I'm sure you can follow it and Greg is available to answer your questions or comments.

Broadcast 1139 (Special Edition)

Guest: Pharis E. Williams. Topics: fusion, Superluminal Space Craft, science funding, propulsion. Our guest today was Pharis E. Williams and our subject was out of the box scientific and propulsion theories. We started our discussion with the two papers Pharis delivered at this year's SPESIF conference. The first was "Fusion for Earth and Space." Here, Pharis talked about the potential of fusing deuterium nuclei in helium nuclei to create a different model of fusion.

Broadcast 1124 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Harrison Schmitt. Topics: Climate control, CO2, realists vs. modelers, Returning to the Moon. Dr. Harrison Schmitt recently attended The Heartland Institute's 2009 International Conference on Climate Change held in New York from March 8-10 (See http://www.heartland.org/ for more information) and he was on today's Space Show to talk with us about climate change and anthropogenic global warming. Our discussion was far-reaching, scientific, and factual. Listeners asked lots of questions and several callers engaged Dr.

Broadcast 1086 (Special Edition)

Guest: Mike Snead was our Space Show guest today to discuss his recently released energy study, "The End of Easy Energy and What to Do About it." To get your copy of this report, visit http://www.mikesnead.net/ and click on the SSP white paper link on the left side of the page. During our discussion, Mike took us step by step through his research, analysis, and conclusions regarding energy issues facing our nation and the world between now and the end of this century.

Broadcast 1064 (Special Edition)

Guest: Sharon Weinberger, author of "Imaginary Weapons," was our guest for the first hour followed by a half hour of Open Lines. Sharon provided us with the history of her research regarding her book and we began our discussion with nothing less than the hafnium 5 kiloton hand grenade. From this point, we discussed how such projects are funded, the dream of an isomer bomb, DOD and DARPA standards, and much more. At different points in the discussion, we extrapolated to NASA and space expenditures using Ares 1 and other space projects.

Broadcast 1036 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Marshall Kaplan was our guest for today's show. We started our discussion with an introduction to his teaching, training, and education company, Launchspace (Please see http//www.launchspace.com/ ). We talked about his upcoming classes, Space Principles and Space Vehicle Mechanisms, plus other courses offered. Dr. Kaplan told us about the market for these courses, who teaches them, and many of the topics taught. In addition to talking about Launchspace, we talked about U.S. space policy, its importance, the risks it faces, and more.

Broadcast 891 (Special Edition)

Guest: Bruce Pittman. Bruce Pittman returned to The Space Show to talk about fusion energy, specifically aneutronic fusion from hydrogen (Deuterium) and Boron. During the program, Bruce explained the difference between the ITER/Tokamak approach to fusion vs. aneutronic fusion. Aneutronic fusion is fusion which does not release very much energy in neutrons so it reduces the need for radiation protection. Next, we discussed the funding of this as well as other fusion projects . He told us about the continued funding of fusion projects even though little progress has been made.
