Broadcast 1063 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Robert (Bob) Richards was our guest for this Space Show program. We started our discussion with an update on the Optech meteorological lidar unit flown aboard the NASA Phoenix Mars Lander. As Bob reported to us, all worked to their complete satisfaction with the unit. Guest: Tom Olson was the guest for this Space Show program to debrief us on the IAC 2008 conference recently held in Glasgow, Scotland. After discussing Walt Anderson, we then moved on to talking about the various sessions, the major talk by NASA Administrator Dr.

Guests: Retired General Bob Dickman, Executive Director of AIAA, Col. Richard White, USAF SMC LAAFB, and Maureen Heath of Northrop Grumman Corporation were our guests tonight regarding the upcoming AIAA Space 2008 Conference to be held in San Diego, CA from Sept. 9-11. We started our discussion with Ms. Heath and the Civil Space Day programming that she has been organizing for Wednesday, Sept. 10th.

Broadcast 903 (Special Edition)

Charles Pooley of Microlaunchers (www.microlaunchers.com) returned as the guest for this Space Show program. Charles started the discussion by explaining the Microlaunchers concept, which is to design a spacecraft for a 200 grams or less payload in order to take advantage of new FAA regulations as well as the continuing evolution in the components and technology of small mechanisms. He also cited the example of the Google Lunar X Prize as a potential outlet for the Microlaunchers concept.
