The Space Foundation Conference

Broadcast 1272 (Special Edition)

Guest: Peter Sage. Topics: Space Solar Power (SSP), the business case for SSP. Peter Sage, a leading and well-known international entrepreneur and a Director and Principal of Space Energy was a guest for this show from Dubai. You can find out more about our guest and his company by visiting www.spaceenergy.com. Our almost two hour program was divided in two segments but because our discussion points and themes crossed over the segments, this review will not be broken down by segment.

Broadcast 1266 (Special Edition)

Guest: Open Lines. Topics: Due diligence, science peer review, individual accountability. Today's program was a two hour Open Lines program with each segment running about an hour. As the themes were the same throughout the discussion, I've not broken this description down by segment. We started the program with my brief comments reminding listeners that extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. My comments were largely directed at recent SSP claims made to me in emails as well on the show, plus a few books I have previewed for authors.

Broadcast 1260 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Jim Vedda. Topics: Space policy and goals. We were most fortunate to have as our guest for this program, Dr. Jim Vedda. Our two hour discussion was wide ranging over many aspects of both U.S. and global space policy. In our first segment, Dr. Vedda talked about the "why" of space policy in the final chapter of the Augustine Commission Report but suggested this information relating to the goals of our space program should have been at the front of the report given its importance. This opened up our discussion on space goals being about our capability, not a destination.

Broadcast 1231 (Special Edition)

Guest: Robert Zimmerman. Topics: Lunar water, Augustine Commission, space policy, climate change and sunspots. Robert Zimmerman returned to The Space Show as our guest for this program. We started the first segment with questions for Robert regarding the recently announced lunar water, Indian Space Agency (ISRO) and MIP reports of lunar water, the IndiaDaily.com article and how all this might impact U.S. space policy in light of the Augustine Commission report.

Broadcast 1119 (Special Edition)

Guest: Sy Liebergot. Topics: NASA Flight Controller, space station, Return to the Moon, exploration, education. Sy Liebergot returned to The Space Show to talk about the newly released second edition of his book, "Apollo EECOM: Journey of a lifetime," published by Apogee. Sy was the lead EECOM Flight Controller throughout the Apollo manned missions and the book tells his story with lots of experiences and personal insights.

Broadcast 1057 (Special Edition)

Guests: Leonard David was the guest for three segments of our program, followed by Barbara David joining us for the last segment. We did much forward-looking during this show given the changes taking place in government, the economy, and the space community. We talked about the incoming administration and what it might mean for space, the Space Coast of Florida, and its commitment to human space flight, the economy, viewing the Space Shuttle, and much more. Leonard reported on the recent Lunar Lander Challenge and Armadillo Aerospace at the X-Prize in Las Cruces, NM.

Broadcast 960 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Donald Rapp was the guest for this Space Show program to discuss his book, "Assessing Climate Change: Temperatures, Solar Radiation, and Heat Balance." This was a factual discussion of Earth's climate, climate change history over time, the Little Ice Age as a baseline, the hockey stick graph, and much more. Dr. Rapp takes a hard look at the climate talk and you will not want to miss what he has to say. He then defines the real problem as one of having sufficient energy for Americans and the world in the future.

Broadcast 929 (Special Edition)

Guest: Dr. Donald Rapp was the guest for this Friday Space Show program. Dr. Rapp authored two new books, both of which were discussed on this program. During the first three-quarters of the show, we discussed his book, "Human Missions To Mars," and what it will take for humans to go to Mars. For the remaining part of the program, we discussed his book, "Assessing Climate Change," and here we facilitated an important discussion about the science behind climate change and global warming. Some listeners may find this to be a controversial show regarding both topics, so please be advised.

Broadcast 530 (Special Edition)

Dr. S. Fred Singer was the special guest for this Space Show program. Dr. Singer began the interview with a detailed discussion of his Ph-D Project, going to Mars via the moon Deimos with a base on Deimos and working from the other Martian moon, Photos. Dr. Singer explained why it is easier, less costly, and much faster to go to Deimos than to Mars. This is one of the discussions you must hear as it makes scientific, engineering, and economic sense to launch Mars exploration with this type of plan. Dr.

Broadcast 492 (Special Edition)

Chip Proser returned to The Space Show for this program. Fresh from ISDC and from updating his important documentary, "Gaia Selene: Saving The Earth by Colonizing the Moon," we discussed how space can be used as a major path for solutions to our energy problems and the climate change being experienced around Earth. Chip discusses these topics in detail and connects the dots for people so they can see yet another vitally important reason to become space-faring, reach for the Moon and take humanity off Earth.
